My first wedding at Melrose Caverns kicked off my first wedding of the 2017 season! The day was absolutely gorgeous, and the weather could not have been better for Cory and Kara's early February wedding. Although the bride prayed for sunshine and I prayed for overcast (next time I'll make sure we're both on the same page :) ) we had plenty of options for photos at this gorgeous venue!
While my second shooter, Katie, photographed the guys getting ready, I worked with Kara to capture getting ready with her momma and bridesmaids. We got some quick bridal shots and party shots, before moving her inside before guests arrived. The most touching part of the pre-ceremony portraits, was when the bridesmaids and close relatives prayed around the bride. It was so evident that Kara and her family have a deep love for Christ, and he was ever present on her wedding day. This was of course one of the many moments I teared up.
The ceremony was absolutely touching. Kara and Cory braided a cord in reference to the scripture that a three stranded rope is not easily broken, followed by a beautiful song by one of her bridesmaids and lifelong best friend.
Once the ceremony ended, we headed outside again for family photos and of course, my favorite part, couples photos. Kara was spot on for all of her photos, which was no surprise as she was an absolutely gorgeous bride. Cory and Kara are so much fun to photograph because they are completely in love! They seriously made my job sooooo easy, and I mean, come on! They're precious!
The day ended with a bubble send off! While the bride and groom were giving the guests and I a chance to get ready, I had a ball goofing off with everyone and preparing them for exactly what I needed them to do for the bubble photo. They certainly nailed it!
Kara and Cory, it was a huge pleasure meeting you both and working with you. You all are so genuinely kind and selfless, and I had an absolute blast photographing your wedding! I hope you had fun in Tennessee
